Identify Your Starting Point

Identify Your Starting Point

Jump Starter

A big mistake many people make when they make the decision to get in shape is that they forget to identify where they are starting from. Before you ever start your training and nutrition programme it is critical that you are perfectly clear on where you are starting from and why you need to leave that place.
How can you know where you want to go when you don't know where you are moving from. Also how can you measure progress?
It is critical that you face up to facts and be honest with yourself and write down a record of each of the following:

1. Your weight

2. Your bodyfat level - make sure to get measured with a skinfold callipers as it is the most accurate and I find the 4 site method the most accurate

3. Your tape measurements - measure the circumference of your chest/back measured around the nipple, waist measured around the bellybutton, arms and legs measured midway on upper arm or leg and if a lady measure the hip circumference on the widest part of the hips.
For guys neck is also a good one to measure.

4. Current clothes size - top and bottom

5. Current energy levels

6. Current sleeping habits and quality

7. Daily emotions

8. Quality of your various relationships

Another very powerful tool is to take before photos - front back and side view in swimming gear - more that can be seen the better. A photo can't lie whereas you can form what you see when you look in the mirror.

It is very important to analyse various aspects of your physical shape as well as your general daily feelings, energy levels and relationships etc as your current state of mind,& consequences of your
deep unhappiness of your physical form, effects everything.
